March is our month to focus on Back to Genealogy Basics! Recently I have been getting more questions about how to get started in genealogy. Questions about where to start. Questions about the meaning/interpretation of records. Questions on locating available records. This month seems like the perfect time to delve into these questions. March is our month to focus on Back to Genealogy Basics!   Recently I have been getting more questions about how to get started in genealogy.  Questions about where to start.  Questions about the meaning/interpretation of records. Questions on locating available records. This month seems like the perfect time to delve into these questions.  This isn’t just for beginners! In my early years of genealogy, I moved quickly through the records, adding names to my family tree generation by generation.  But as we all know, you hit a brick wall eventually.  Overlooked clues in the beginning of a search can be the key to avoiding some of these brick walls.

Join me this month as we look closely at vital records, census records, locating these records and more.

Hi, I was looking for info and stumbled across your page. I am looking for info on a Willie (William?!) Lexter (or Lester) Harward, dob about 1895 from Orange County, NC. He married Lelia Georgia Wallace, dob about 1903 in Moore County, NC. Do you have any connection or information available? Thanks so much 🙂

I am not familiar with Willie Harward. Given his location in Moore County, I would expect him to be part of this family. I’ll keep my eyes open for his name as I research.
