    Good one, Lisa. I have 2 ancestors named Leonard Davis – a junior and senior. Most of the time there is nothing to distinguish the two, so when I found that one died in 1840, I naturally assumed it was the older one. But the 1840 census showed Leonard Davis as a Revolutionary War veteran living with his daughter. Then I knew it was the younger Leonard who died even before his father.
